Message from President.

OCI was established in 1959 in Incheon, Korea and began in the chemical industry with a Soda Ash plant. The firm diversified into the Solar PV business in 2011 and in 2010 was the first company in Korea to be awarded Green company certification.

OCI is now the number two manufacturer in the world producing 11-nine grade high purity polysilicon, producing 52,000 metric tonnes at its plant in Korea and 14,000 metric tonnes in the Samalaju, Sarawak plant. OCI plans to expand the Samalaju plant to be able to produce 27,000 metric tonnes by 2019. OCI aims to become number one in the world by producing the world’s best quality polysilicon using the world’s most efficient cost structure. OCIM is aligned with that of OCI with a common goal to achieve the same target.

Currently, OCIM has implemented a process improvement project at the PS-1 and PS-2 plants in Sarawak. OCIM will invest a further US$150 million (Ringgit Malaysia 600 million) in 2018. Furthermore, we intend to expand the capacity of the Samalaju plant up to 60,000 metric tonnes gradually till 2023 with the total additional investment forecast to be US$800 million (Ringgit Malaysia 3.2 billion).

We look forward to your continued interest, encouragement and support in the future.

Thank you

Teak Joung Kim
